Day 65 Update: Rapelli to Ojo de Aguas
221 miles
It poured all night. I woke up in a puddle. The landscape was pan flat and when I poked my head out of my bivvy the ground was covered in water as far as I could see. Nothing was dry. The wind was whipping and I felt really down. I managed to hop on my bike and just started riding. I kept my head down and focused only on pedaling one stroke at a time. I didn’t take pictures, I didn’t stop much, I just rode all day. The headwind stopped in the afternoon in favor of a sidewind so I was able to finally make decent time, albeit not fantastic. Mentally I wasn’t doing great, but it was a significant improvement from the disaster that was yesterday. The only way out is up.
